The Canadian Classic - Poutine

When it comes to Canadian food, I like to say that we have so much diversity in our cuisine thanks to multi-culturalism. You can find pretty much any kind of eats from any corner of the world in my city, easily at that, but when it comes to true Canadian cuisine, we own the Poutine.

Is it revolutionary? Nope. Not at all, but what makes it so special is the use of cheese curds. Cheese curds are squeaky and have so much texture to them, I can eat them right out of the bag to be honest. With that being said, there are no substitutions when it comes to a poutine; shredded cheese is not appropriate as you've now got fries with cheese and gravy.

Creamy Mushroom Bucatini

Who's ready for some creamy, dreamy bucatini? I created this recipe after spotting a jar of Cacio E Pepe at the grocery store. I rarely use jarred sauces, but I was intrigued to give it a try and had some mushrooms at home I needed to use. Voila! New recipe created lol.

The sauce is super simple. Olive oil, garlic, heat, onions, wine, mushrooms and our jar of creamy Cacio sauce. Once everything is bubbly and gorgeous, I finished my bucatini in the sauce for a dreamy, creamy pasta dish. I also threw in a whack of fresh parsley for some fresh pops of green throughout the dish.

It's creamy, full of mushrooms, and so delicious you guys. I was actually quite pleased with the taste / texture of the jarred sauce but I would probably make it from scratch in the future. Head to the RECIPES page.

Cheesy Broccoli Baguettes

Snack time, or even a fab lunch paired up with a fresh salad y'all. These Cheesy Broccoli Baguettes are so simple, so savoury, and so delicious. Plus, they really couldn't be easier.

I roasted off some broccoli florets until charred and tender. Then, I gave them a smash on the tray to flatten them out a touch. In the meantime, I grille dup some gorgeous baguettes and gave them a garlic rub down.

Grilled baguettes, roasted broccoli, and a combination of grana padano & aged cheddar, broiled until melty. Finished with a good squeeze of lemon, fresh parsley, and Ranch dressing which was the PERFECT accompaniment. Head to the RECIPES page.

Now, 1.5 million signatures have been collected urging the U.K. Government to end the import and solidify their status as an anti-cruelty nation.

Chik'n Caesar Cutlets

I'd seen this idea multiple times as I doom scrolled on Instagram and every time I saw it, I thought, huh, that looks pretty freaking good. So, that's why I decided to try it out for myself, and honestly, well worth the try!

I baked up my favourite Gardein Chik'n filets until crisp and golden out of the oven. While the patties baked up, I tossed together some thinly sliced romaine and red onions, grana padano, cracked pepper, and Caeser dressing. Then, it was time to assemble.

Crispy patties topped off with creamy Caesar salad, pepper flakes, heaps of finely shredded grana padano, and a squeeze of lemon to finish it off. This was such a fun idea you guys. So delicious & so quick. Y'all need to try it <3

Let's Make Weekend Brunch

There really isn't anything better than a hearty, varied weekend brunch plate. Typically, I like to have a bit of everything on my plate for the purpose of making every bite a little different. At the end of the day, we want to be full and satisfied.

This brunch plate came together rather quickly. Some Sprague Canned Baked Beans which had some whisky. They were sweet and perfect against all the savoury. I made a quick, seasoned tater sitch with onions and jalapenos and a cheesy egg scramble. Then, it's just down to assembly.

I served my plates up with soft croissants and fresh fruit. Alternately, toast or English muffins would also be perfect. So hearty and so delicious. Head to the RECIPES page.

Spicy Sausages with Sauteed Veg

Sometimes, life is busy, and I don't have time to prep / cook an extravagant meal. That's where quick eats like these come in and thanks to Beyond Meat sausages, life couldn't be easier!

This "recipe" is more so a quick idea for y'all if you're ever in a rush and need something quick and satisfying. I fried up some onion, bell pepper, and jalapeno until soft and slightly charred. Then, I fried up some gorgeous Hot Italian sausages until they were nice and blistered on all sides.

Assembly was simple y'all; soft rolls, spicy sausages, zippy yellow mustard, sauteed veggies, and a good squeeze of chipotle mayo to finish. Quick, satisfying, and delicious. Head to the RECIPES page.

Roasted Tater Tostadas

Every time I make put together tostadas, I always wonder why i don't eat them more. They're crisp despite being piled high with toppings, they're savoury and delicious, and all of the garnishes are so colourful and pretty. Honestly, some of my fave eats!

This time, I seasoned & roasted some russets until gorgeously golden and in the meantime, warmed up some spicy refried beans. It's super simple to put these together! Once the taters were roasted up, assembly couldn't be easier.

You can play around with your toppings / garnishes here. Think pickled onions, chipotle salsa, pickled jalapenos, Tajin, I mean, go crazy with them y'all! Head to the RECIPES page<3
