Using dried beans and lentils is something I've really been trying to get into lately. When working with any new product, read the package for their directions and it will give you a general idea of what you need to be doing. With dried lentils and beans, you must sort through them and remove any small rocks, sediment, and anything else that isn't a bean / lentil. Easiest way to do this? After removing your measured portion from the bag, work in small batches on a large white plate. The plate offers the perfect backdrop to spot the things you want to remove from the dried beans / lentils.
