Excited about the future!

My dreams of moving abroad are now closer than ever. I qualified for a blue card and am now waiting for the right opportunity. I couldn't be happier!! There's no easier way to travel through Europe than by living there! I'm hoping to end up in Germany or Austria but I am open to opportunities anywhere at this point.

My diploma doesn't hold much importance where I am currently living so I was surprised to learn it was considered valuable in Europe. Why in the world had I not known about this? I have been struggling to find employment period in my city and despite my work history in management and the diploma I've attained, I don't appear to be qualified for much.

I've joined a German language learning group online and I am excited to actually practice talking to someone in German. I can read it pretty well and understand a bit of it but I haven't had the opportunity to chat with people regularly so I'm definitely looking forward to it.

I am looking forward to the future!

Cleanup in the 519 pt. 3 - East Side Parks

Growing up, these were the parks where I spent a lot of my time. Fabulous, green areas right on my back door step with swings, playgrounds, and tons of park to play in.

As I watch the children play there now or the people walking their dogs, I am reminded of those good times. This is why I decided these parks were where I wanted to head next for my cleanup efforts. I filled 3 bags between the two parks.

I think what's most upsetting is that there were 3 garbage bins in the first park and 1 in the smaller one. There's no excuse for littering!

Every little bit you do for your community and the environment is important!

Cleanup in the 519 pt. 2 - Ganatchio Trail

Growing up, Ganatchio Trail was the coolest and most beautiful place to gather. There was Suicide Hill which we spent tobogganing on in the Winter and plenty of trails and nature to really enjoy year round. As time has gone on and development has taken over portions of Ganatchio, the beauty still remains. The nature here provides such a beautiful and calming backdrop for a walk. There's beauty around every corner!

This is why I decided to continue my trash collection here. One thing I did notice is there could be a few more garbage cans throughout. I had to search to find them aside from the one very noticeable one upon walking in. Still no excuse for littering!

My trip was a success, 1 hour and 2 1/2 bags of trash!

Until next time!

Cleanup in the 519 Part 1

A week or so ago I shared a picture that made me so angry. Litter everywhere, more litter than grass by comparison, it was awful. I decided to once again go out and start setting an example as far as littering goes. I popped into the Dollar Store and found an extendable arm to pick up trash with, armed myself with a garbage bag, and hit the road.

The Environment provides us with so much and to see the blatant disrespect of the land is so despicable. I've always been a stick in the mud when it came to littering but particularly when there are garbage cans provided in all of these places. That's the truly sad part of it.

If even 1 person sees me cleaning up and decides to take the initiative to do so as well, imagine the difference we can all make!

It's also a great way to get out with the family, enjoy the beauty around you, and do your part!

Update on Me

Just a quick check in with y'all. I'm still not working but I remain positive with the leads I am currently following.
  • I am trying to figure out details by contacting the German Consulate in regards to relocating. Relocating to Europe is kind of a dream of mine and I have been teaching myself German so it seems like the perfect fit. This is what I'm really hoping for so keep your fingers crossed for me!

  • I am currently in communication with 2 separate leads for work throughout Canada. Relocating is kind of my intention right now. I'm 30, single, and kind of feel like it's now or never.

Wherever I end up, I'm taking each and every one of you along with me!
