No matter how prepared I feel, I find myself working up to the very last minute every Christmas! I did a lot of online gifts this year as I was able to find a site that personalized items which I thought was a super cute idea. As Christmas approaches this year I find myself a bit lost. It has crept up on me as it seems to every year but something is different this year.
This is going to be our first Christmas without my mother. Although 8 months has come and gone, I still don't feel a heck of a lot better about the situation. She was always so excited for Christmas. She took such pride in her hectic Christmas schedule. She was working, shopping, baking, decorating and everything in between. She was a lot of the reason we loved Christmas so very much, her excitement was uplifting and just wonderful. As a family we will obviously find a way to keep spirits up but a little piece of us will be missing. What a blessing it is to have nephews who I can spoil, it always makes me smile when they smile! On that note, I hope you all are nearing the end of your Christmas shopping.
