I haven't really written anything in here in quite some time because there's just so much happening in the world around us right now. Obviously, the coronavirus has dominated a lot of our 2020's with a barrage of information and statistics coming our way consistently. We've got the US elections that have been nothing short of nasty and debilitating. So much happening around every single day that it seems like I've barely had time to collect my thoughts.
In terms of the US election, there was only one way things needed to go in my opinion and it seems as though that's the way it's headed. Trump needs to go. He's aided and abetted divisiveness with his rhetoric throughout his tenure in office. The United States needs healing, it needs 4 years of picking up the pieces, it needs decency again. No more name calling, no more calling women pigs or suggesting that it's the men who are working. We need leadership from that country and empathy, two things we've not seen from Mr. Trump this entire time. I'm so sick of seeing his face plastered all over the news, thread after thread of absolute craziness on twitter etc. I just want him gone. The coronavirus has also kind of dominated this year hasn't it? I can't believe we're already in November, nearly 9 months into this pandemic and what have we learned? We've learned that the virus has some how become political. We've learned that Canadians also share a similar divisiveness with the United States over mask policies, gun control etc., it's obvious things are not all sunshine and lollipops as the rest of the world would sometimes assume of us. It's been so draining watching the protests and dealing with the public everyday when there are a significant amount of people who either think it's a hoax or have no regard for other's well being. I have found working with the public especially draining as I've had to enforce policies that a fraction of people don't agree with. It hasn't been enjoyable in the least. In terms of my future you ask? Well, I'm waiting for information from the NZ government as to whether they think I'll be able to move there for a year in the future. Until I get the information from them I'm needing, my future is kind of up in the air. I really want to spend a year there but obviously with this virus and everything, there's a lot of uncertainty surrounding my future plans. I've done a bit of planning if NZ somehow ends up off the table but don't have any definitive backup plans yet. Fingers crossed that next year I can move to NZ and spend a year travelling throughout Australia, NZ, and parts of Asia. I hope you all are holding up ok. So much going on around us can be so overwhelming sometimes but it's important to try and stay positive when surrounded by so much negativity. Here's to hoping that 2021 is the healing year, the bounce back year, just a better year in general for all of us! HAPPY VEG
