Unfortunately the next installment in my Canada allows bestiality story is not very exciting or positive. I finally received word back from the Supreme Court of Canada and it was not what I had hoped it would be. Long story short, they totally misunderstood my point and basically told me they had no responsibility in the matter and that they wouldn't discuss anything with me due to professionalism issues. Once again, I've been shot down.
I think what's most frustrating about this process is that they told me to contact local parliament about animal cruelty laws. The fact of the matter is that the law is a CANADIAN law and not an Ontario law. It is a law that is written for all of Canada as a nation, how is not their responsibility? By contacting local parliament will they be able to alter the laws for all of Canada? I've literally hit a brick wall with my own government. I am going to be contacting my local parliament in an attempt to figure out what my next step should be but I must admit that I am quite disappointed with the Canadian government. All they did was shift blame and shoot me down before we even had a chance to discuss anything. It's super disappointing that the people who are out to protect / support us are the ones who refuse to do anything to help you. I will continue to keep you all posted and hopefully the next time I update y'all on my progress it will be good news! There will come a day that our bestiality laws are changed and I will see to it! HAPPY VEG

Hearing about animals going extinct really fries my ass. I am so disappointed with humanity every time I see / hear / read a story about extinction.
As I was reading this particular story (link above) I discovered a shocking statistic near the bottom of the article. There are currently over 41,000 animals on the IUCN Red List. The red list is a collection of animals that are considered "threatened". Of these 41,000 animals, over 16,000 of them are considered endangered on the verge of extinction. It's so saddening to read something like that while also being extremely anger inducing. I can almost bet what the reasoning behind their move towards extinction is and that is us. Our race is slowly but steadily wiping out animals and it generally boils down to greed / over population. Hunting, Poaching, and Habitat Loss are almost always the reasons an animal goes extinct. It frustrates me so very much that it seems like most people don't care. How can someone knowingly hunt animals that are endangered? It's especially frustrating in the case of poaching, where do you go after you push a species to extinction? No more ivory AND it's too late to save the animals. Greed is motivating people to wipe out entire species of animals. There is no logic in these situations, only dollar signs. By the time our desire for more of everything becomes monitored it will be too late. I am so scared for the future of our animals. I'm scared that numbers don't lie and there are over 16,000 species I may never get the chance to see. 16,000 species that did nothing but exist and we decided that was too much to ask. 16,000 species of animals that deserve the land just as much as we do and we are bullying them out of it. This planet needs to wake the f up before we have nothing but memories of animals left. Well this just keeps getting better and better. Bornean Orangutans have recently been declared critically endangered due to habitat loss / illegal lodging / hunting. Their numbers are expected to drop by 80% by 2025. So, once again humans have overstepped their boundaries and demonstrated their motives are continuously driven by money. According to this report, only 59.6% of Borneo's forests are suitable for orangutan life meaning humans have destroyed the remaining forests for personal gain.
Primates are our closest relatives, they share 99% of our DNA, yet we choose to demolish their homes and leave them scrambling to adapt to less than appropriate living conditions. These beautiful animals have a slow reproduction process and with their land continuing to be stripped from them, they are on a path to extinction. Although this report claims extinction is not the only outcome, sadly it is hard to believe. Conservation efforts are quite obviously failing and frankly, too little too late. I think efforts to conserve their land need to be improved and rapidly before these beautiful creatures are wiped off the face of the planet. What they are doing is not working so an immediate change and improvement are necessary. Step up the efforts! Lackluster conservation is leading to disaster! How many other animals call this area home? How many other animals are we going to read about heading towards extinction before we pull our heads out of our asses? There is suffering all around us that WE HAVE CREATED, therefore it is up to us to fix it before it is too late. How many animals will we lose to extinction before the world wakes up to the havoc it has created in the animal kingdom. We have seen some prominent animals become extinct in recent years (black rhino anyone?) and at this rate will continue to witness majestic, beautiful animals fall prey to extinction because of our stupidity. Hey, at least we'll have pictures though, right? HAPPY VEG About a week and a half ago I received a response from the Prime Ministers Office stating my email would be directed to the appropriate parties. I waited patiently but did not hear a response so I decided to scout out the Attorney general of Canada's email and email her directly.
Unfortunately, I have yet to receive a response. Our bestiality laws need to change, simple as that. If I don't hear anything by the end of the week I will email again and likely contact the paper / news. It's understandable that a person in her position is likely very busy but in this case, I refuse to back down. This particular situation has hit me like a brick wall. I can't sit by waiting patiently for them to realize our laws are extremely outdated and actually condone animal molestation. It's sickening to me and I can't get it out of my mind. At the end of the day, y'all can expect to hear more from me about this and hopefully the next update I post is positive news! HAPPY VEG |
