New Progress - Bestiality Laws

I was lucky enough to be contacted by the Animal Justice group and they offered me some fabulous advice. Before that though, I feel it's important to mention that they also fought the bestiality laws because of the same case that inspired me to fight. They were granted a chance to speak to the Supreme Court but they were unable to sway the decision of the court. I was kind of disappointed that a group so large had troubles because it has made me feel that my fight is going to be a lot more difficult than I had hoped.

With that being said, they too informed me that I needed to contact my local parliament member about this. They suggested she might be able to meet with me to discuss this issue and potentially help. I emailed her yesterday and I am awaiting a response.

All of this will be worth it if I see our laws change. It's not unreasonable to ask that any and all sexual exploitation of animals be considered bestiality. It's sickening to know that there are people out there committing these horrible crimes and getting away with it because our laws lack the necessary protection for animals. I don't want to live next to the person who is sexually exploiting their pets. Who would? Jail time MUST be mandatory with any crime associated with sexual exploitation and that's what I'm fighting for!
