Upon first reading this story, I almost thought this was some kind of a joke, it's that unbelievable to me. Beginning Saturday, a city in Arizona will begin a "game' that involves killing as many animals as possible. You heard that right folks, there are rewards for those who kill the most animals and receive the most points. The points are allocated based on the animal you are killing. Foxes will earn you 1 point, coyotes will earn you 2 points, bobcats will earn you 3 points, and finally, mountain lions will get you 4 points. Doesn't this sound like some kind of Hunger Games otherworldly nonsense??
There are so many things that i could say about something like this but I've already said it all when it comes to hunting. If you're the kind of person who takes pleasure in ending another living being's life, you probably have other emotional or mental issues that are going unnoticed. Every single one of these animals has only one desire, to live. What the hell gives any of these people the right to decide that all of these animals deserve to die? Humans continue to demonstrate their salacious greed and their continued demonstration of dominance among other species manipulating the planet to their advantage. We have absolutely no right to go out and decide what lives and what dies and we certainly have no right to make a fucking game out of killing as many animals as possible. What kind of world are we living in here?
"It is morally, scientifically, and ethically reprehensible to slaughter animals for some kind of perverted thrill." I am extremely opposed to this and although there is limited time to speak out, there is still limited time. Head to the original story at the top of this post from World Animal News and follow the instructions at the bottom of the post to send the mayor emails or phone calls politely urging her to reconsider this atrocious sport. Limited time or not, any voice still needs to be heard before this god awful game commences and hundreds and thousands of animals are killed all in the name of fun. HAPPY VEG
