Strong Opposition to Stripping Gray Wolf Protection

Nearly 2 million people have expressed opposition to the President of the United State's decision to overturn gray wolf protection. Among those nearly 2 million people are citizens, 100 scientists, 230 businesses, 367 veterinary professionals, senators, and animal rights organizations, all of which sent letters to the United States Fish and Wildlife Services expressing their opposition to this decision.

With this many people from all positions expressing their opposition, it paints a very grim picture of the future of the gray wolves as well as slashing and undermining the the efforts of the Endangered Species Act which for 45 years has worked tirelessly to protect the planet's most vulnerable and at risk species, including the gray wolf. In fact, even those within the US Fish and Wildlife Services who wrote scientific peer reviews determined that the reasoning behind delisting the wolves was full of errors and and came to a predetermined conclusion not reflective of the actual situation with the wolves. Essentially, they had their minds made up before they ever looked for more information.

Gray wolves have seen their numbers drop from the hundreds of thousands to a paltry 5, 500 across the United States so the decision to remove their protections is merely for profit involved with protecting the livestock industry and continuing to promote the interests of the abhorrent trophy hunting industry. It is evident this decision is not based on any kind of scientific evidence as mentioned, rather another example of how the Trump administration is continuing to turn its back on animals in desperate need. His administration has shown a complete lack of care and empathy for the plight of animals by denying climate change, allowing endangered animal trophies into the country, and delisting protected animals.
