TOP 15 ANIMAL VICTORIES 2015

I ran across this article and thought I'd share it with you all as well as put my two sense in to some of these top stories according to the TRUE ACTIVIST website.

2015 actually saw some major progress being made in places like New Zealand, Germany, and areas around the United States. Big corporations like Ringling Brothers and Sea World that use animals for entertainment saw a decline in popularity and have been adjusting to save face. I'd also like to mention that Canada was not mentioned once in the "Top Stories" article. Unfortunately, despite being a proud Canadian (most of the time), we are far too lax and unproductive when it comes to adjusting and updating out animal rights / protections law.

Let's chat about a few of these stories from this 2015 round up!

#1 - New Zealand recognizes all animals as sentient beings

This is something that I am shocked hasn't been accepted across the board. A sentient being is described as being able to feel both happy (joy, excitement) and sad emotions (pain, fear). This ruling will make it much easier to prosecute and convict those responsible for animal cruelty. This is great news! Hopefully all nations recognize this fact soon and more animal cruelty convictions start coming to light.

# 4 - Hawaii on track to be first US State to ban Wild animals from performing.

FANTASTIC NEWS! Think about it, how many tigers or lions are caught regularly jumping through hoops of fire in the wild? Free the animals and let them live the way they were meant to live, not the way we've manipulated and taken advantage of them. Animals are not items for our enjoyment and frankly being that we are now in 2016, it's time to ban wild animals from performing everywhere in the world.

# 3 / 5 / 7 - Sea World taking a real ass whooping!

Seaworld has been receiving non stop criticism and 2015 saw them take a real blow. Reports state their profits were down 84% which goes to show you that we as people generally want to see whats best for animals! Seaworld received lots of negative attention this year and at this rate, I don't see 2016 going any better for them!

Check out the article for yourselves! Any victory no matter how large or small is still a victory and 2015 saw some progress but we have a long way to go before animals are treated with the respect they deserve across the board.
