The USFWS is headed towards another lawsuit after a new rule expanding hunting & fishing that opened up 2.3 million acres in 147 wildlife refuges and fish hatcheries was approved. This new rule will allow for the slaughter of ecologically top predators like black bears and mountain lions and also allows for environmentally destructive lead ammunition to be permitted. This is incredibly negligent of the USFWS whose responsibility is to make decisions based on how things affect the environment / animal kingdom.
When we go and start taking out natural predators, we inevitably allow for the rapid population growth of prey animals like hares, deer, and other small mammals. When these animals become abundant, it can have disastrous effects on an ecosystem's ability to function healthily. When we start disrupting the balance, we then grant ourselves the authority to further rectify the situation which could lead to increased slaughter of prey animals, pandering once again to hunters. Our manipulation of the animal kingdom is pushing so many species further towards extinction and now we've literally opened up protected lands for further hunting. It's undeniably negligent and irresponsible.
It seems to me that the USWFS is incredibly compromised because most of the posts I've done lately in regards to the USFWS have been about them getting sued. They're repeatedly getting sued by animal welfare and conservation organizations because they're actively working against their own position which is to protect animals. They're actively working against the Endangered Species Act and are actively working against the survival of endangered animals. They are compromised and in my opinion, need to be investigated from the inside to determine whether or not they can continue to functionally protect animals and the environment as they are intended to do. Innocent animals are plunging towards extinction and the USFWS is helping that along. HAPPY VEG
