My Top Plant-Based Chik'n products 2024 Edish

For someone who didn't really care all that much about nugs when he ate meat, I have an unhealthy obsession with plant-based chicken products! Nugs, burgers, bites, balls, whatever, give them all to me! Any time I spot a new plant-based chik'n on the market, it is snatched and sampled ASAP at home. This obsession ties directly to my former obsession with French fries if you really think about it. Crispy, seasonings, carb vibes, they're basically identical but with the addition of protein.

Without rambling too much, let's just get right in to my 2024 (so far) top plant-based chik'n products because as a self-proclaimed chik'n connoisseur, you guys need my list!

#6 - Gardein Crispy Chik'n Sliders

These have been around for a super long time. They were one of my favourite little snacks near the beginning of this now 23 year journey of vegetarianism and they continue to be a fave.

The little patties themselves are nice and crispy out of the oven, but retain enough moisture with the plant-based chik'n. Not dry whatsoever, unless you over cook them of course...

They pair well with everything. Mayo, hot peppers, lettuce, toms, pickles, whatever. Crispy buns, crispy, tasty chik'n, and like, sliders are so cute.

#5 - Not Co Nuggies

These were actually a newer addition to my list after I tried the NotCo burgers for a chik'n parm recipe I had created. The burgers were good, although not accurately depicted on the front of the package, but good nonetheless.

Much like the burgers, the nugs were just plain good. Good crisp, good texture, good flavour, great snackability. They're not top 3, but they beat out a lot of other options to be in this position. You gotta try them!

#4 - Impossible Nuggies

It shouldn't really come as a surprise that the Impossible Nuggies made my top list. Impossible Foods has a wide range of really delicious meat substitutes that I use often. I love their plant-based beef and have used it in chilis, casseroles, literally everything.

These nugs have the whole shebang. They even smell delish while they're cooking if that's even sensical. They're so golden and crispy, so flavourful, and they major snackability. They used to be more expensive than other competitors, but now I find them comparably priced and worth every penny.

#3 - Gardein Supreme      Chik'n Filets

Now THESE were depicted properly on the front of the package, let me tell you that! My first sign they'd be large and in charge was the fact that there were only 3 filets versus a typical four pack.

They're literally the best plant-based chik'n burgers / filets I've ever had to date. They easily thwart all competition without a doubt. They're thicken and meatier, crispy AF, and just plain delicious. If they were in nugget form, they'd be my favourite product on the market. Huh, is this foreshadowing?

#2 - Sol Cuisine Crispy Chik'n Bites

I remember when I first tried these, I was absolutely gobsmacked at how juicy and chicken like they were. It's not often plant-based meats are considered "juicy" but these bites are literal perfection.

They come out of the oven so golden brown and glorious crisp. The inside has the perfect texture and as I stated, so juicy. Even my meat eating father enjoyed them and claimed they were pretty bang on. They have such snackability but can also be used as toppings on sandwiches or salads. These have been my number one for months until I tried our newest number 1 plant-based chik'n product.  

#1 - Gardein Supreme Chik'n Nuggets

And here we are, the very best plant-based chik'n I've had to date and I'll be honest, it's going to take something absolutely unimaginable to knock these out of the top spot.

I can't even begin to describe how authentic these nuggets are. They literally taste like chicken, it's unreal. They're crispy, they're juicy, they're addictive. I've never made less than the whole bag in one go and I've eaten every single one of them every single time. Don't sleep on these, they're perfection!
