Natural Products I'm Obsessed With (and some I'm not)

When I first started working at Healthy Mama Restaurant, I was pretty naive in terms of all natural products. I was happily rubbing chemicals on my armpits, dousing myself in chemically body washes and creams, blissfully unaware of how bad these things are for our bodies. Through the years, I've learned so much through my boss, her husband who seems to know absolutely everything about life, and just the environment itself. 

As I've grown and learned, I've tried a variety of natural products. some of which were fantastic while others were unfortunately bad and ineffective. I figured I'd share with you guys what natural products I'm currently using / consuming and some that I've tried and probably wouldn't use again!

BULLDOG - Skincare for Men

I absolutely love this line of products. I first tried their Peppermint and Eucalyptus body was which I was immediately obsessed with. The body
wash was nice and thick and lathered really well while the peppermint and eucalyptus was fragrant and stuck with me hours after my shower ended. I also currently use their face scrub that contains ingredients like green tea and aloe. It exfoliates quite nicely and always leaves my face feeling fresh and clean.

Schmidt's Natural Deodorants

Obsessed! When I first switched to natural deodorants, I did so because I was worried about a lump in my armpit. I used a few different ones but always ended up smelling badly after a few hours in the kitchen at work. Then, I tried the Schmidt's brand and finally found a natural deodorant line that kept me fresh throughout the day regardless of the heat. I've used the Charcoal & Magnesium stick which is by far my favourite, no staining on my shirts and a mild fragrance that holds up throughout the day. I've also used the Bergamot & Lime which I thought smelled amazing & covered up any odours through reapplication, but it did stain my under arms a little bit. Ultimately, the line is great, works well, covers up odours and keeps me fresh throughout the day.

Here's a couple products I've used that I wouldn't personally recommend!

TOM'S Deodorant for Men

Tom's was the first all natural deodorant I tried as it is readily available in most supermarkets and pharmacies. It made claims that it protected against odour and wetness for 48 hours which I discovered quite quickly was wholly untrue. I might be sweatier than the normal person or this deodorant simply didn't do its job. I found myself reapplying frequently throughout the day to prevent odour and after the second or third application, things started to get sticky and gross under my pits. Not the best product on the market in my opinion.

J.R Watkins Mens Body Wash

I've tried two different body washes from the J.R Watkins line, the Bergamot & Oak as well as the Wintergreen & Spruce. In terms of smell, both body washes were fragrant and left my skin smelling lovely afterwards. My complaint about these body washes is the body wash itself is incredibly thin, almost like running water which made it quite easy to overuse the wash to get a nice lather. I found that because it was so thin, I inadvertently used more which caused me to run through the bottle much quicker than I would like. All natural products are expensive so using a product that you fly through isn't ideal. 
Smells great but super thin and easy to use up far too quickly.
