ZOGLO'S - Pub Style Strips

Zoglo's has been around for a while now but they don't seem to get the same recognition that brands like Gardein, Yves, or even Lightlife receive. Zoglo's has a pretty extensive line of plant-based products with everything from sliders to schnitzels, and they're available in most of North America, Europe, and Australia. Let's get to the strips!

This is part of their Incredible line of products, a seeming step up from their traditional line. This was the first time I spotted these and y'all know I have an obsession with chik'n nuggies, strips, schnitzels, ugh, all of the above. Needless to say, I was pretty excited to try these out.
My first thought out of the box was that they were pretty dinky for being pub style. I don't know, I guess that indicated to me that they were going to be like, big and juicy looking.
First of all, the cook time on the box was incorrect. They needed more time after the initial cook time because there wasn't any real crisp action. After the second time I took them out, they were looking a bit better.

The flavour was ok, the breading was a bit crispy and nice, and the inside "meaty" portion was juicy. Also, the price point was great compared to other available brands.

These kind of reminded me of like, the premium white meat chicken breast strips lesser enjoyable cousin. Like, they're good by default because they're chicken strips, but they're not like, the ones you would have wanted. They sit somewhere in the middle in terms of the good, the bad, and the mediocre.

BUY! - If you're a strip snob, you won't enjoy these. However, if you're looking for a little late night snack actsch, these are cheap and relatively satisfying.

TMRW - Brats

TMRW is a Canadian brand of plant-based products that include everything from bratwursts to burgers to breakfast patties. Their line is new to me to be honest so I was pretty stoked to try their bratwursts and I must admit, I like the packaging.

Out of the package, they were giving me more of a breakfast link vibe, kind of dinky and not suitable for a bun. Upon frying them, they smelled delicious and really gave off a sausage like smell. I was a little sad that there didn't seem to be much natural greasiness when they were frying but with a little help from EVOO, they started to leak out some of their natural juices.

Visually, they looked pretty sausage-y. They got nice, brown colour upon being fried and LOOKED delicious when they were done cooking.
First of all, I loved the casing on the outside. It snapped like I would expect a real sausage to snap and visually, looked pretty accurate. Unfortunately, that's where the similarities end.

The texture was off when comparing to a real sausage or even a brand like Beyond Meat that has nailed that plant-based sausage game. I didn't enjoy the texture and there were crispy bits inside that I didn't recognize. It was giving me an oatmeal like texture that I didn't really enjoy. I found the overall flavour pretty good but I really didn't vibe with the texture on these.

BYPASS - Look, there's better sausages out there and if you're looking for that experience, these are not the sausages I'd recommend. This wouldn't stop me from trying other products in the line because they were somewhere in between good and bad which means their other products might wow me. I'll definitely be on the lookout for their other prods.
