Hemp hearts are truly a superfood! Loaded with protein, omegas, and several vitamins and minerals, they play a crucial role in keeping our bodies in tip top shape. It's super easy to get hemp hearts into your diet when you consider their many uses and the variety of hemp products available. Before I get into that, let's chat about Manitoba Harvest, the world's largest manufacturer, grower, and distributor of hemp products!

Founder Mike Fata's transformation is what inspired the creation of Manitoba Harvest Hemp products. Being overweight and constantly fatigued, he decided to do a complete 360 with his diet. Starting with what he ate, products like hemp hearts were perfect for his new routine because they are nutritionally dense and full of everything needed to keep our bodies fuelled. After getting in shape and turning his life around, he founded Manitoba Harvest in an effort to get the word out about hemp hearts and their many body benefits..

Manitoba Harvest has created an entire line of hemp heart products that are not only exceptionally good for you, but extremely delicious as well. Their range includes the hearts themselves, toasted heart snacks, hemp bites, oils, and proteins. Literally creating a line that has something for everyone ensures that people will not only find a product that suits them, but that they enjoy the products as well. With several ways to get hemp hearts into your diet, there's a lot of goodness to go around!

What do they taste like and how should you enjoy them?
Hemp hearts have a nutty flavour and in their original state, can be added to smoothies, used as a topping on salads or creamy soups, or eaten straight out of the bag.
Their line of hemp toppers are extra delicious because they have been jazzed up with additional flavours. Blends like chipotle, onion, and garlic, or maple and cinnamon, mean that there's a way to add hemp hearts to whatever you're eating. Salty or sweet!
Essentially, the more you eat the better off you'll be. With such a fabulous variety of products to choose from, there's hundreds of ways to get as much hemp power as possible! Want to know more?

Head to Manitoba Harvest's website for details on their entire product line, information and nutritional stats on hemp hearts, and where to find them locally or online. Don't wait, get your hands on their products today and start pumping your body full of nutrients, omegas, and protein. :D

Zoglo's Crispy Breaded Cutlets

This is actually the second product from Zoglo's that I've tried and will be reviewing. The first, their meatless chicken flavour patties, were pretty good. Although I found that they lacked chicken flavour and desperately needed salt, they were enjoyable crispy, and after being salted, tasted pretty good. happyveggie.weebly.com/products--facts/zoglos-meatless-chicken-patties
This time around, I tried the Crispy Meatless cutlets. Taking them out of the box, they had an unnerving orangey colour that was kind of strange. Looking at the instructions, pan frying was the safest bet because the oven instructions were very vague but I still decided to bake them up. I put them in at 375F for 20 minutes flipping halfway and when they finished, they didn't look much different than when they came out of the box. I was kind of expecting some brown but they stayed pretty much the same.

They were addictively crispy which is one of my favourite things about anything that's breaded. They had a really great crunch and wonderfully airy texture on the inside. Much like the last product from them that I reviewed, they were lacking a lot of flavour. After a pinch of salt and some sauce on the side for dipping, they were just fine.

Overall, they are a good value because you get 4 cutlets per box. They're easy to make despite the lackluster instructions, they're crispy and airy on the inside, and make a great main paired with a salad and side. I must admit, the nacho cheese orangey hue was a bit off putting and they didn't really taste like chicken but ultimately, they were good. Worth the money and good to have on hand in a pinch! I suggest picking up a box and trying them for yourselves!

Hilary's - World's Best Veggie Burger

World's Best Veggie burger is a statement that one  makes if they are incredibly proud of their product, but also if they truly expect people to buy and compare with their favourite veggie burgers. It's definitely bold to call your product the best in the world and before I get into the burger, let's chat about Hilary's products!

Hilary's started in 2010 with the goal of providing clean, healthy products using fresh, whole ingredients. They have quite an extensive collection of products ranging from burgers and veggie bites, to millet and veggie medleys. Their products contain food free from common allergens and highly processed ingredients.

I was originally turned off by the burgers coming out of the box as they were pale and seemingly lifeless. Reading the ingredients was assuring because I could see what everything was and felt good about what I was about to eat from a health perspective.
Eating the burgers, there were a few things I noticed. They were wonderfully crispy on the outside despite not getting super brown in the frying pan. I like a crispy outside so that was a treat. Flavour wise, I found that they didn't hold up against the toppings I had chosen so I had to rip a piece of the burger off separately to try. It actually had a great flavour and as I mentioned, a great crisp. I could taste the freshness of the ingredients which was great!

Would I call this the best veggie burger I've ever tried? No, probably not. I would however say that they were tasty, crispy, and full of fresh, wholesome ingredients and that says a lot. I am looking forward to trying some of the other products in their line like their broccoli casserole veggie bites, their root veggie burger, and a few of their salad dressings. Overall, I suggest giving their products a try. You can rest assured that whatever you try comes from a fresh, wholesome beginning.
