There is a stigma around canned / frozen veggies and fruit that they are inferior to their fresh counterparts but this is not necessarily the case.
With most fruit and veg, they begin to lose nutrients the second they are picked / removed from their roots and unless the produce is grown locally, it likely travels quite a distance to get to your supermarket. During its travels, it's losing valuable nutrients not to mention freshness and flavour. Why is this important? Frozen fruit and veggies are a wonderful alternative to fresh, especially during the winter months when fresh produce is likely being imported. Frozen produce is picked and frozen at peak retaining its nutrients which is most important! I've attached a link of 11 fruits and veggies that are potentially better to buy frozen than fresh. Knowledge is power especially when it comes to getting the very best out of your produce. The moral of this post is simple, don't be afriad of frozen produce! If it's not in season, it's not usually the best of the best in terms of quality so it might be better to opt for a frozen variety! HAPPY VEG
