Some of My Fav products

GARDEIN
Gardein is one of my favourite lines of plant-based products. Their line is extensive and features traditional meat substitutes for burgers, chicken burgers, or nuggets, while also featuring some unique meat subs like the stuffed turkey or fish fillets. I've tried most of their line and have been relatively pleased with everything I tried. Here's my fav products from the Gardein line that I've tried thus far.

Crispy Chik'n Sliders
Ok guys, these are by far my favourite product from Gardein. These little snack size chik'n sliders are absolutely delicious and frankly, quite addictive. I've never opened the box without eating all 4 of the sliders in one sitting, this is the honest truth.

They're so crunchy out of the oven and have a really good flavour. The itty bitty buns are also finished in the oven which gives them a nice golden brown situation. I love to dress these simply with some mayo and pickled hot peppers but you can eat them without anything on them at all and I'm sure you'll enjoy them!
Chipotle Black Bean Burgers

What can I say, Gardein makes good burgers. What I love about these burgers is that they're not competing to be the meatiest or most meat like burger available, they're in a league all their own. I love the chipotle flavour that comes through in every bite, it's just enough to spark some oral excitement without burning the inside of my mouth. They're tasty, gluten free, and a nice change from most burger patties that are all trying to be meat nowadays.

Turk'y Cutlets
This is another one of my favs from the line. There's something about a crispy cutlet drizzled with gravy that brings me back to my youth and the dinner's I grew up eating. These crispy turk'y cutlets have a good amount of flavour and get gloriously crispy and golden out of the oven. The provided gravy is unique and really subtle, but it pairs so perfectly with the cutlets. These babies are perfect paired up with a side of mixed veg and some potato mash for a traditional looking plate that makes me feel all nostalgic.

I'm obsessed with these cutlets!
YVES VEGGIE CUISINE
Yves has been my go-to line right back to when I first became a vegetarian. Their products are familiar and easily accessible.

Ground Round
Before Beyond Meat flooded the market, there was Yves Ground Round. This product has been my go-to for dishes like Shepherd's Pie & meat sauces for many years. The flavour is very subtle which I enjoy because it doesn't overpower or take away from the flavours of the dish you're whipping up. It provides a meat like texture without all the grease and fat which is another thing I love about it. I've always got a pack on hand and can confidently say that it is my top 3 for ground round products on the market.
Deli Slices
Oh, the nostalgia of it all. Remember the days of lunch meat sammies? Taking me all the way back to lunch boxes and grade school. I love Yves line of veggie deli slices for when I'm craving a bit of nostalgia. There's nothing like a good sub stuffed with lettuce, tomato, deli slices, cheese, and all the condiments imaginable. They offer turkey, ham, bologna, salami, and pepperoni, all of which I've tried and can literally eat straight from the package. They're great to have on hand for sammies on the go.

LIGHTLIFE Veggie Dogs
Hot dogs are cringy because we know that they're made with like, all the leftover parts of the animals. There's nothing cute about meat hot dogs but veggie dogs are where it's at. I get a craving for hot dogs once in a blue moon and when I do, I reach for Lightlife's dogs. Everything you love about hot dogs, right down to that familiar flavour without all of the fat or cholesterol. What's not to love?
BEYOND MEAT Breakfast Patties
There's absolutely no competition for these breakfast patties that I've tried. Although these patties are hard to find, when you get your hands on them, you'll be obsessed just like me. They're so abundantly flavourful and have the perfect texture. They even smell delicious as they're sizzling up in the pan. Your breakfast sandwich will never be the same, you must try these patties!

PC BRAND Plant-Based Broths
I've already posted about these broths in like, 3 separate posts to date. I'm absolutely obsessed with these broths and have used them in so many dishes since they hit the market. They contain herbs, vegetables, and spices that contribute to their overall flavour and give you the feeling of using real chicken or beef based broths. They're much richer and more flavourful than your traditional veggie broth. I swear by these and always have one of each in my pantry.

President's Choice Plant-Based Products I'm excited to Try

www.presidentschoice.ca/products/plant-based
There are always new and exciting plant-based products hitting supermarket shelves every single day. It's been so much fun grocery shopping as of late, because there's always something new to see. I've been especially intrigued by the President's Choice plant-based line. I've tried and reviewed a couple of their products on here before but I haven't yet had the opportunity to try some of their newer additions to their plant-based line of products.

I want to share my excitement over a few of the PC Brand plant-based products I've tried, and the ones I'm literally dying to try next!
Plant-Based Beefless & Chickenless Broths
These are by far, my absolute favourite new product on the market. Both broths really take your dishes to glorious new heights with their intense and wonderful flavours. When reimagining meat-based recipes as vegetarian, these broths really play a big role in keeping your dish as true to the original as possible. Both broths have a combination of spices, herbs, and seasonings, that really give you the savouriness of meat-based broths. Recipes I've written like my Vegetarian Beef & Mushroom Stroganoff, (www.thehappyveg.ca/recipes/beef-mushroom-stroganoff) wouldn't have been the same without my PC Brand Beefless broth. Trust me when I tell you guys, these are a must have pantry item. Keep both on hand and you'll be surprised how often you're reaching for them!

Corn, Kale, & Kale Veggie Bites
I love me some crispy little snacks out of the oven. I'm so guilty of always having a box of some kind of hors-d'oeuvres in my freezer and I'm usually snacking on them way late at night. That's why these little veggie bites are so wonderful! Now, if I'm reaching for a snack late at night, at least there's some vegetables in them. I loved these veggie bites from the inside out. Crispy quinoa coating that was wonderfully crispy and a veggie forward filling that was light but still felt a bit naughty. Defs love these ones and think you guys should snatch up a box if you see them!
Breakfast Links
These are currently sitting in my freezer, awaiting their turn to take a trip inside my stomach. I'd say if there was one meat I missed, it would be breakfast sausages. Obviously, I don't miss the slaughter attached to it of course, but I definitely miss those flavours. I've tried other plant-based links and they've been just ok, not even remotely close to how I remember them being. I'm really banking on these links being the bees knees, and delivering on what I expect from a brekkie link. A little greasy, some snap action when you slice into them, and good flavour. I'll be sure to post about them once I've tried them!

Plant-Based Ground
Currently, there is no real competition when it comes to ground "beef" and the Beyond Meat brand. Impossible foods has yet to release their beefless ground in my city and the YVES & Gardein versions are good, but devoid of any of that familiar beef flavour. One thing I dislike about the Beyond Meat beef, is the simulated smoky, beefy aftertaste, that seems to linger for hours after finishing your meal. I'm really hoping this PC Brand beefless ground delivers on all of those flavour and texture notes without leaving me burping of simulated beef flavour for days.
Plant-Based Sausages
Gosh, I've tried some horrendous sausage imitations in my day. Sausages that stick to the pan, no matter what you cook them on. Sausages with the texture of what you imagine wet dog food would be like. Sausages that smell like wet dog food. Beyond Meat was the first plant-based sausage I tried that really delivered, and gave me hope that future sausages might take a cue from their success. I'm excited to try the PC Brand sausages, holding on to hope that they're going to knock it out of the park. A good plant-based sausage, needs to have that casing on the outside that snaps when cut into. They need to be a little greasy and a whole lotta juicy with the perfect texture and chew. I've got faith that the PC Brand sausages will be great so I'm looking forward to trying them.

The PC Brand is adding new products to their plant-based line all the time and I'm super excited to see what new products they come out with. Have you guys tried any of their plant-based line? Which products were a BUY and which should I BYPASS? Let me know!
