Low Sodium is the way to go !

For every soup I have ever made (excluding the soups from my cooking course) I have always used low sodium vegetable broth. There are many reasons for this but first I'd like to point out the sodium levels below.
Picture
Per 150 ML - Sodium     570 mg     24 % DV
Picture
Per 150 ML - Sodium     20 mg     1 % DV
It's very easy to see the difference here. Sodium is recommended in your diet but in small doses. If you used the entire carton of Chicken Broth you would in turn be consuming 3420 mg of Sodium. That's over a 1000 mg more than the maximum you should consume in a day.

By going with the unsalted or low sodium versions it allows you to control the amount of salt you add to a dish. Ultimately, you would salt and pepper your soup during preparation so by reducing the salt otherwise you have more control of the amount of salt used in flavouring your soup.

You can find low sodium beef, vegetable, and chicken varieties !

What do candy, jello, and yogurt have in common ?

http://www.peta.org/about-peta/faq/what-is-gelatin-made-of/

I remember hearing about Gelatin a long time ago and being horrified at what it actually was. So horrified in fact, I blocked the knowledge of it and continued eating without reading ingredients.

After having the (unfortunate) pleasure of witnessing the process of deriving it from bones in cooking class, I knew I could NOT possibly eat that any more. I had already refrained from eating candy as I knew it was in most of the candies I liked but now I needed to know what else it was in and if there were other options. Jello is made of it, it's used in candy, yogurt etc HOW DO WE AVOID IT!

Agar Agar is a vegan substitute to Gelatin and has the same effect. Keep that in mind !

I personally enjoy Astro All Naturals as far as yogurt goes, they're delicious, creamy, and contain NO GELATIN!

As far as candy goes, these are great because they remind me of Swedish Berries, which I loved.

Thank you to our competitors and tune in for our next Veggie VERSUS Meat Battle :D

NOTE: I am not here to sway meat eaters from eating meat. Vegetarianism is a personal choice and lifestyle and I am simply touting the benefits of it. If I convince even one meat eating friend to adopt a MEATLESS MONDAY, I've done my job :D
