A clean and organized kitchen really is the key to a successful meal. Keeping your work area clean is the easiest way to keep from stressing while preparing a meal. Messy surroundings cause confusion and really clutter your area leaving little room to navigate.
I was shopping today and came across a new product Rachel Ray was introducing, the Garbage Bowl. I absolutely love the concept here, a bowl set off to the side where you can discard your vegetable scraps, wrappers, packaging. and everything in between, such a great idea. I commonly set aside a plastic bag or bowl to keep scraps out of my way and just love the idea of having a bowl specifically for that purpose. With that being said, the bowl was $19.99 and it got me thinking. . . Is the garbage bowl actually worth the money simply for the title? I mean, it was visually pleasing and very heavy and sturdy which was also great but aside from that, it was a bowl like any other.. Here's my philosophy, the idea of the garbage bowl is a great one but if you have an extra mixing bowl sitting around you already have a garbage bowl. Use the idea because it really keeps your cutting board free of clutter and makes for easy disposal of waste but just grab a bowl out of your cupboard and PRESTO, you have a garbage bowl! HAPPY VEG
