This time around, I tried the Crispy Meatless cutlets. Taking them out of the box, they had an unnerving orangey colour that was kind of strange. Looking at the instructions, pan frying was the safest bet because the oven instructions were very vague but I still decided to bake them up. I put them in at 375F for 20 minutes flipping halfway and when they finished, they didn't look much different than when they came out of the box. I was kind of expecting some brown but they stayed pretty much the same.
They were addictively crispy which is one of my favourite things about anything that's breaded. They had a really great crunch and wonderfully airy texture on the inside. Much like the last product from them that I reviewed, they were lacking a lot of flavour. After a pinch of salt and some sauce on the side for dipping, they were just fine. Overall, they are a good value because you get 4 cutlets per box. They're easy to make despite the lackluster instructions, they're crispy and airy on the inside, and make a great main paired with a salad and side. I must admit, the nacho cheese orangey hue was a bit off putting and they didn't really taste like chicken but ultimately, they were good. Worth the money and good to have on hand in a pinch! I suggest picking up a box and trying them for yourselves! HAPPY VEG
