Gardein - Supreme Chick'n Products

I have LITERALLY been dying to try this line for the past several months. It all started when their new Supreme line came to Canada but only the burgers were released here. I tried them, they were delicious, definitely on par with Impossible / Beyond burgers. Juicy, meaty, easy to cook, all of the above. After trying them, I was desperate to get my hands on their chik'n line and I've finally found them. Were they worth the wait?

Chick'n Filets

Right out the bag, they looked a lot different than other frozen plant-based chick'n products I'd had before. They looked hand breaded and every patty was a little different. Less processed perhaps than other brands which initially had me interested. Super simple to make, bake or air fry until golden brown, crispy perfection and let me tell you, they came out looking like the most gloriously golden patties I'd ever seen.

Please, forgive the heinous photos taken at night when the light is less than forgiving. As you can see, they were big patties that hung over the side of the bun. I served them up with some spicy sliced pickles and chipotle mayo. Honestly, the BEST chick'n burgers I've ever had, hands down. The breading was so unbelievably crisp and delicious while the meaty inside was flavourful and juicy. JUICY! Can you believe it? I've rarely had a plant-based patty described as juicy. 

Honestly, these were PHENOMENAL and I can't wait to have them again.

​Chick'n Nuggets

Once again, right out of the bag, these looked different. They had that hand breaded look I appreciated and they were all different shapes of nuggies, again, appreciated. Much like the patties, easy to make; bake or air-fry until golden. I did find that the bake time was not long enough to get them nice and crispy so I had to cook them for a few minutes longer. Not a biggie.

Much like the patties, these golden brown nuggets of happiness were everything I'd hoped for. Crisp, addictive, and juicy! Like, so snackable and so delicious, even my meat eating father claimed they were some of the best plant-based nugs he'd ever tried. These are a major win for sure.

BYPASS or BUY ?

BUY - Guys, as someone who considers himself a plant-based chick'n connoisseur, these are the best plant-based chik'n products on the market, or at least top 3 for sure. Crisp, flavourful, juicy, and quite literally, perfect. Nothing I would change, and I'd happily eat them every day forever. 

Go out, grab a bag or two, and you'll see just how fab they are!
