SOL Black Bean Burgers

I consider myself a Veggie Burger Aficionado so that's why I was so excited to try Sol Cuisine's Spicy Black Bean Burgers. I have only attempted scratch made veggie burgers once and it was a DISASTER. It was about as enjoyable as eating sawdust if you can envision that.

Let's start off with what I loved about these burgers!

• I loved the amount of Fibre! There was almost a quarter of your recommended daily intake of fibre per burger!
• NON GMO! Need I say more?
• Protein! 11g of Protein per burger.
• When these burgers were sizzling away on the stove top they smelled so delicious. Such a unique aroma in comparison to other burger products I had tried.

With that being said, there were some not so great things as well.

• They were tiny. I didn't enjoy how thin they were and found the buns I had purchased to be too big for the patty. They were almost half the size of other burger products I had purchased in the past.
• Cumin. I love my spices but surprisingly, cumin is not one of them. When it's combined with other strong flavours it really enhances the dish but it is so overpowering to me when it's the dominant spice. If you love Cumin, this isn't so much of a con.
• Price was high. I'm o.k with shelling out for a premium product but these burgers were $1.00 more per box of 4. That's considerably more and I didn't feel like they were worth the increased price.
  
• There was no spice. I was looking for a kick of jalapeno or chili and all I got was cumin. That's not considered a "spicy" flavour as far as I'm concerned.

It all comes down to the flavour and the value. I didn't mind the burger but found the cumin was too overpowering and the price was not justified in comparison to other competing products.
