Convenience plays a big factor in where we shop. It's so much easier to visit the "One Stop Shop" type of superstores where it's easy to grab everything we need and then some!
If there's any kind of tip I can give you this would be it. Take the time to visit specialty shops, local fruit markets, and international food stores. It's in these places where some of the very best products are available! For example, fruit markets usually carry local produce which is considerably fresher and by purchasing local, money is pumped back in to the local community. Today I had the pleasure of visiting a Mediterranean market and I was astounded at the products I had access to. Fresh cheeses, imported foods and desserts, and a variety of dried pastas I had never seen. I picked up a new pasta called Radiatori which looks so dense and hearty with all of those ridges to store a gorgeous sauce! I found some delicious Spanakopita roll ups and a fabulous Piquillo pepper Bruschetta that I will be diving in to right away! Take the time to visit these places and I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed!
