While I'm not the biggest fan of mushrooms, that dislike usually extends to the more exotic, freaky looking varieties. When it comes to cremini mushrooms, love, and I especially love this recipe for Garlic & Wine Mushrooms!

It's a quick and easy side dish that pairs well with a variety of mains. All you need is some cremini mushrooms, butter, heaps of garlic, fresh thyme, and some good, dry white wine. The resulting mushrooms are plump and juicy, buttery, and slathered in so much garlic. What's not to love?

Canada Eyes Ban On Cosmetics Testing On Animals

Canada's abysmal animal welfare track record is shameful to say the least. We continue to slaughter baby seals, allow fur production, and to date, allow products to be sold in our country that have subjected animals to needless, painful testing. Cosmetics testing on animals is despicable, unnecessary, and cruel to the core. Now, Canada is eyeing a ban on cosmetics testing as it was included in the 2023 Federal Budget.

Eggplant Parm with Sausage & Roasted Red pepper Sauce

Ok y'all, it was time to give my eggplant parm a 2023 upgrade and I must say, it was fabulous! I made a rich, flavourful sauce featuring Beyond Meat Hot Italian sausages and roasted red peppers that cooked down for over an hour while I completed everything else.

I air fried the eggplant slices which made them nice and crispy without all of the oil. Layered with sauce, pizza mozz, and grana padano, and baked until melty, bubbly, and fu<king glorious. This recipe takes a bit of time so make sure you've got it, you won't regret it <3

Hippos One Step Closer to ESA Protections

After threats of being sued, the United States Fish and Wildlife Services announced that hippos may qualify for Endangered Species Act protections. With these protections, imports of hippo parts in the US would be nearly banned, awareness campaigns would ramp up, and necessary funding would be allocated to protect hippos and their habitat. It is imperative that hippos receive these protections.

Slow Cooker Tomato Sauce

Since I've started working Saturdays, my slow cooker has become my best friend. There's nothing easier than throwing a bunch of ingredients together in to the pot and letting it cook for hours while I'm away at work!

My tomato sauce recipe is rather simple, but I've taken the extra step of cooking my plant-based beef, onions, garlic, and some of the seasonings to bring out some additional flavour in the sauce. It makes a world of difference in terms of flavour to take that extra step.
