WINDSOR ONTARIO - Does violent animal abuse deserve jail?

A Windsor man has been convicted of one count of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal after surveillance cameras caught him violently beating his dog in an elevator back in November 2019. Now, the courts will decide whether Tyler gets house arrest or jail and a ban on owning animals.

The violence and aggression on display in that video warrants jail. That dog has a long road to recovery and the attack was unprovoked and so violent in nature. We must set an example that violence against animals is a true crime and stop punishing these people with a slap on the wrist.

Creamy Cremini & Fava Bean Orecchiette

While I'm not the biggest fan of the texture of mushrooms, I certainly love the flavour and this Orecchiette dish packs a pleasant amount of mushroom flave. It starts with garlic, thyme, and heat from pepperoncini, then, it's the slow cook of the creminis that allows that flavour to really infuse itself throughout the dish.

I love Orecchiette pasta for its texture, but it's great for a creamy dish like this one. You get notes of thyme, underlying heat which is always appreciated, and a well balanced flavour from the cremini mushrooms. Massive Illegal Wildlife Import Seized In Malaysia

A shipment of illegal wildlife parts estimated to be worth 18 million U.S. dollars was seized by Malaysian customs. Included in the shipment were endangered pangolin scales, elephant & rhino horns, and endangered tiger fangs. This shipment proves that the illegal wildlife industry continues to decimate wild populations despite anti-poaching efforts. If more is not done, these species will undoubtedly go extinct.

Butter Paneer Tacos

I'm a big fan of mashing up different cuisines to create specialty tacos like my Butter Paneer Tacos! I'm super fond of Indian inspired creations because they're so rich and flavourful and bring something special to a taco Tuesday.

I started by frying up my Paneer cubes in coconut oil until nice and crispy. Then, I made a rich and creamy butter sauce to finish my paneer cubes in. Once the simmering is over and things are rich and gorgeous, it's just a matter of assembling.

Garnishes include crispy red cabbage, tangy feta cheese, smooth sour cream, and fresh greens like spring onions and cilantro. They're so delicious and you'll end up with a little butter sauce leftover to use for another meal. It's a win win! Head to the RECIPES page!

Saucy Blush Ravioli

Break out the baguettes y'all, you'll need them for my saucy blush ravioli!

Plump, cheesy ravioli tossed in a creamy, buttery blush sauce, and finished with as much grated grana padano as your heart desires. I love this recipe because if you're a fan of sauce like I am, you'll be dipping away to your heart's content. There's really nothing better than destroying an entire baguette as you sop up all of that glorious saucy action.

Animal Food Bank Winnipeg Facing Potential Closure - Needs Our Help!

An organization that has served over 75, 000 meals this year alone is facing the possibility of permanent closure and needs our help. Animal Food Bank Winnipeg is asking for help to continue their essential work in helping families in need of pet food. Creamy Leek & Lemon Tortellini Skillet

Y'all know by now that I'm a huge fan of skillet meals. I love how quick and easy they are from prep to plate to cleanup. Perfect for our busy weekdays where I'm even guilty of looking for the easiest thing around to make.

My creamy leek & lemon tortellini skillet is legit perfect weeknight eats. Plump, cheesy tortellini and tender leeks simmered in a creamy white wine & lemon sauce, & broiled under a layer of pizza mozzarella. What you get is a cheesy, super simple dinner that's delicious, easy, and simply needs a side salad to complete it.

New York Looks to Ban Cosmetics Animal testing

The Cruelty-Free Cosmetics Act awaits a final decision by New York Governor Kathy Hochul. If passed, new products tested on animals will be banned and companies found to have tested on animals will face fines. This bill must pass!
