Belgium Bans the Import of Hunting Trophies

Belgium announced a ban on the import of hunting trophies from endangered species; another blow to the abhorrent trophy hunting industry. An industry that profits off of the suffering and inevitable extinction of some of our planet's most recognizable species. This is monumental and hopefully only the start of a chain of events that leads to other countries stepping up and saying no to hunting trophies.

Creamy RRP Pesto Rav

Another day, another banging pesto recipe for you guys! My pesto recipe is exactly how I like it, so with that being said, it's quite easy to add an additional flavour or two to it to create something entirely different.

This recipe is incredibly easy to make and takes minimal time / effort thanks to a quick sauce and quick cook, frozen ravioli. We use my standard pesto recipe, and toss in some roasted red peppers from the jar for colour and flavour. Then, some wine, some cream, and some of your time are all you need for a delicious and robustly flavoured weeknight pasta dish.

When I went to plate and serve, I remembered having one more burrata in the fridge, so of course it ended up on this plate of rav. not planned, but perfect nonetheless.  Head to the RECIPES page!

Cheesy tater Casserole

This recipe came to be after I went to make a custard based mac and cheese, and realized I had potatoes that might not get used up in time. I simply used my mac and cheese recipe, and subbed in par-boiled taters instead. Revolutionary!! lol

On top of my standard egg based cream recipe, you just know I had to spice things up with Red Thai chilis. Not only are they infused in the cream mix, but there's some more on top to make sure every bite provides both cheesy deliciousness, and fire.

This is an any time casserole. Want it for breakfast? Go for it! Want it as a side to your dinner? Yes! It's kind of a blank canvas waiting to be paired with whatever your heart desires. Head to the RECIPES page.

Vegetable Lentil Soup

This soup is the perfect example of easy eats that are comforting and perfect for a chilly evening. utilizing a combination of both fresh, and pantry staples, this soup is undeniably easy to put together, doesn't take long to cook, and is so lovely and delicious.

There's a kick of spice from the pepperoncini, colour and warmth from turmeric, wine, tender lentils, brown rice, herbs, and lemon. Every bite is a combination of all of these things in a light, flavourful broth.

Chik'n Caesar Salad Ciabattas

You can't beat a good sandwich, am I right? Crispy bread, veggies, some kind of protein, cheese, the whole shebang! My Chik'n Caesar Salad Ciabattas are so easy, so delicious, and ready in under 30 from start to fin.

Store-bought Caesar dressing saves the day on this recipe. I've tried out a few home-made versions but to be honest, I don't eat it enough to make a giant batch. When shopping, make sure you read your labels and look for nasty, processed ingredients, as well as anchovies which are a traditional Caesar dressing ingredient.

Mexican Flatbreads

Quite literally, the easiest appetizer, snack, or even meal, to put together. So few ingredients and such a fun idea. I could see a small group of me and my friends destroying both of these in little to no time at all lol

Store bought flatbreads smothered in creamy refried beans and topped with heaps of old cheddar, sliced red onions, and jalapeno rings. Baked until  melty and bubbly, and topped with crema, Mexican salsa, fresh cilantro, and cotija cheese.

Jalapeno Cheddar Tater Skins

Literally though, is there any potato dish on this planet that isn't just fu<king unreal? I really don't think so, potatoes are literally the best and these cheesy tater skins are no exception!

It all starts with roasting beautiful russets until crisp and fluffy inside. Then, skins are returned to the oven to crisp up further while we whip up the filling. The skins are then piped full of whipped, creamy mash, and topped with cheddar and jalapeno slices. Baked once more until golden and heavenly.

The skins are insanely crisp and chip like. Literally to die for and paired against that rich, luscious mash...these are top notch skins you guys.

Years of campaigning by animal advocacy groups and a general disdain for the industry has finally brought a ban on the dog meat industry in South Korea. Pesto Bucatini with Burrata & Toasted Pine Nuts

Although pesto is typically associated with summer, basil is available year round which implies that we should be enjoying pesto whenever the feeling strikes. 

I always have a jar of pesto handy, but I also usually have the ingredients to whip up a gorgeous, fresh green pesto which is always my preferred choice. 

This pasta really couldn't be easier or more delicious. Some sautéing, some fresh pesto, some tossing, and some garnishing with  luscious burrata, nutty, toasted pine nuts, fresh herbs, and grana padano cheese. It's a simple yet luxurious dish thanks to that gorgeous burrata. Head to the RECIPES page.
