Trump Overturns Protections for Alaskan Wildlife

The Trump administration has overturned hunting bans enacted in 2015 opening up Alaska's wildlife to trophy hunters. Entire families of bears, wolves, and coyotes can now be shot in their dens, lured into open spaces only to be shot and killed, and chased with dogs until being shot. Endangered Moon Bears - Close the Bile Farms

Campaigners in South Korea are calling for the closure of bile farms across the country in an effort to better protect this endangered species. There are approximately 16, 000 moon bears left on our planet and yet these beautiful bears are being held in captive squalor on farms instead of in the wild. Learn more under the ANIMAL NEWS tab!

Aloo Phujia

Aloo Phujia is a popular Northern-Indian dish comprising of potatoes, tomatoes, and spices. I stumbled across the recipe one weekend when I had a bag of potatoes and absolutely no inspiration. I immediately knew I had to try and write my own version the recipe. The resulting recipe is full of tender potatoes cooked down in spices like turmeric, cumin, and cayenne pepper. It's got just enough spice to keep you coming back for more ;)

New York Passes Ban on Selling Dogs, Cats & Rabbits @ Pet Stores

New York has passed a bill prohibiting the sale of dogs, cats and rabbits at pet stores. The bill now moves to the Assembly for final vote. 2 Different Examples of Animal Cruelty - Both Deserve Jail

I recently wrote about how I believed that jail time needed to accommodate animal cruelty convictions in order to truly set an example that animal cruelty is a serious conviction.

I've found two different stories, both of which lead to animal cruelty charges, but completely different in their situations. I've reviewed them and broke down why they both deserve to be incarcerated for their crimes. They may seem completely different in nature but at the end of the day, they both committed animal cruelty and both deserve jail.

Wales Joins Scotland & England in Banning Wild Animals in Circuses

Wales has officially banned wild animals performing in circuses, joining 47 other countries across the globe who have taken a stand against wild animals performing like this. While this is cause for celebration, it is also a painful reminder that there are approximately 150 countries that have yet to adopt similar bans.

Animal Cruelty Convictions Failing to Receive Appropriate Punishments

It has emerged that in Northern Ireland, of the 167 cases of convicted animal cruelty in the past 3 years, only 14 people received jail sentences. This is happening across the globe because we cannot seem to wrap our heads around the fact that abuse is abuse, regardless of species. Speciesism is a very serious issue and we must address it to fully hold those convicted of cruelty accountable.

Grilled Medley Bruschetta

Another hot summer day, another delicious and super simple bruschetta recipe for y'all. I've said this before and I'll say it again, there is no greater snack in the summer time than bruschetta. Tomatoes are at their best making for a bright and fresh flavoured bruschetta, there's minimal cooking which means minimal heating up of the kitchen, and it takes literally no time at all to whip up.
This recipe utilizes fresh medley tomatoes which I absolutely love and just a few simple ingredients to pull this buschetta together. Head on over to the RECIPES page!
