FINALLY! Canada bans the sale / trade of ivory from Elephants & Rhinos

Canada has finally announced a ban on the sale / trade of ivory from African elephants and rhinos. This necessary and crucial step will help prevent ivory from entering the country, and sends a clear signal that Canadians are against the needless slaughter of Africa's imperiled wildlife. Both elephants and rhinos of various sub-species are on the Endangered Species List, and poaching / trophy hunting is contributing to their decline.

Creamy Cauliflower Stew

Tis the season for comforting eats and my Creamy Cauliflower Stew is just the right dish for cold weather vibes. It's hearty, it's creamy, and it gives you that warm feeling from the inside out. Plus, there's loads of delicious veggies in every bite.

Along with familiar veggies like carrot, celery, and onion, we've got tender russet potatoes to fill things out, green peas which are total stew vibes for me, and loads of cauli florets in every bite. Finished with whipping cream for that extra lusciousness, grana padano for some nutty, salty notes, and fresh green parsley.

Veggie Stromboli

This recipe was actually inspired by a foodie friend I've connected with on Instagram. Once I saw her stromboli, I was like, yes, this needs to happen.

Prepared pizza dough / sauce helps to save time on this otherwise simple recipe, that also includes dreamy burrata, melty pizza mozz, and familiar garden veggies.

Cheesy Skillet Mac with Calabrian Chili Pesto Roasted Brussel Sprouts

K, so like, obsessed with mac and cheese over here you guys, like, obsessed! Although I've leaned towards egg based macs lately, I can still get down with an easy peasy, roux based cream sauce which is what I've done with this recipe.

A simple roux with some garlic, some milk & cream, and a combination of Monterey Jack, vintage cheddar, and pizza mozz. We toss our cooked shell pasta in to our gorgeous cheesy sauce, top with more cheese and broil until bubbly and golden.

Best part? We're topping this creamy mac with some beautifully roasted brussel sprouts dress in Calabrian chili pesto. This combination is literally to die for and I can't wait for you guys to try it! Head to the RECIPES page <3

Cheesy Smashed Broccoli

Revolutionary? Probably not. Absolutely addictively delicious? 100%! My Easy Peasy Cheesy Smashed Broccoli is destined to be one of your new, favourite veggie sides. Why? It's easy, cheesy, and so simple and delicious.

Quite simply, we're parboiling some broccoli until bright green and slightly tender. Then, a gentle smash, sprinkling of simple seasonings, and baking until almost tender. Then, we simply pile each floret with vintage cheddar and return it to the oven until bubbly, melty, and golden around the edges.

Go ahead, try out this easy recipe and see if you can stop eating these cheesy florets! I almost ate the entire tray after testing this out. Simplicity is best sometimes and all your veggies need is a comfy, cheesy blanket.

Deviled Egg Salad Crostini

I get a hankering for deviled eggs once and a while, usually after I see someone else post a recipe for them. It's at that moment that I realize I haven't had them in a while, and need to make them ASAP.

To keep things interesting, I didn't want to do another deviled egg recipe that didn't have some kind of a twist. So, that's how these little crostini came to be.

Easy deviled egg salad, piped on to crispy, toasted baguette slices and finished with fresh dill, chives, and a necessary sprinkling of sweet paprika. So yummy, sharable, and easy to make. Head to the RECIPES page <3

Pepperoncini Risotto with Burrata

When I say it doesn't get easier, I really mean it with my Pepperoncini Risotto with Burrata. You get heat, you get decadence with that dreamy burrata, wonderful flavour, and creamy, delicious risotto. It's quite perfect if I do say so myself.

Quite simply, pepperoncini & garlic are cooked in butter, along with onions and our toasted arborio rice. A little wine, some warm broth, and patience, and you've got the dreamiest risotto. Finished with some lemon for zip, grana padano, and additional butter which keeps this risotto creamy and lush.

Our burrata is nestled on top, like a crown for royalty. As it melts, it melds in to the risotto creating such a luscious bite. Head to the RECIPES page <3

Heirloom & Burrata Naan with Toasted Pine Nuts

These flaves might surprise you, but to be honest, store bought naan is just like any other floury carb. If I'd make it on a pizza crust or focaccia; why wouldn't I apply this to a store bought naan?

Quite simply, naan is topped with fresh, or prepared pesto, Heirlooms, Burrata, and other gorgeous goodies, including toasted pine nuts, and balsamic glaze.

My Connection Between Meatless Mondays & Wolf Conservation

All across our planet, wolves are being unfairly persecuted, slaughtered, and pushed to the brink of endangerment in order to protect livestock. Instead o better protecting livestock enclosures, wolves are euthanized. As our demand for meat grows with out planet's population, we will need more land to produce more livestock. This land is stolen from wild animals, and we kill those animals for interfering with our livestock production. This cycle is pushing wolves towards extinction and it won't stop with them. Every other predatory species is in peril as a result of our food choices.

Brothy Broad Beans

Got a can of beans in your pantry? If you said yes, you've got a delicious meal waiting for you with a few simple ingredients and about 40 minutes of your time.

I love this recipe because it's so flavourful, so simple, and so delicious. Our can of broad beans is simmered in a combination of wine and broth until tender. Then, we simply fold in some grana and parsley, grill up some sourdough for dunking, and that's it!

This recipe is perfect as a nice lunch / dinner for 2 paired up with some fresh salad / greens or a wonderful side for 4. Get your can of beans out of the pantry and head to the RECIPES page.
