Trump Administration Shockingly Removes ESA protections for Gray Wolves

There are approximately 5, 500 gray wolves remaining in the wild in the US and despite this, the Trump administration has removed ESA protections leaving them vulnerable to trophy hunting, poaching, and continued livestock conflicts. Meat lobby loses appeal to Ban use of Meat Terminology for Plant-Based Products

The EU Parliament struck down a farmer-backed plea to end the use of terminologies like "burger" or "sausage" when describing plant-based products. It's obvious now more than ever that the meat industry is aware of the exponential growth of plant-based products and are feeling the effects of this. Swedish Meatballs

There are many adaptions of Swedish meatballs but the one I most wanted to try was this version. You've got tender, juicy Beyond Meat meatballs that sear beautifully and hold together wonderfully along with a delectably creamy sour cream sauce that cascades down the meatballs in all of its shimmery glory. It's a delicious combination that can be served over whatever starchy base you have in mind. Mashed potatoes, egg noodles, rice, whatever you have will make the perfect base for this creamy meatball dish.

Estonia & Poland on Track to End Fur-Farming

Both Estonia and Poland have taken steps towards ending fur-farming once and for all. This is monumental as Poland is the third largest producer of fur in the world. Ending their participation in this abhorrently cruel industry would undoubtedly be a hit to the industry and would send the clear message that fur is on the way out. UPDATE - Lion Hunt Scheduled for Nov. Officially Cancelled

Only a few short days after it was confirmed, a lion hunt scheduled to take place around Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe has officially been cancelled thanks to world wide outrage and pressure from activists to end this horrific attack on vulnerable lions. Crockpot Potato Leek Soup

It's officially crockpot season which means it's time for all the stews, chilis, and soups our little hearts desire. I think there's something truly magical about setting your pot to low, heading out for a day's work, and returning to a steamy, comforting bowl of whatever you like.

I've whipped up a crockpot potato leek soup that's exactly what my heart desires on a chilly day and it couldn't be easier. It's as simple as layering your ingredients in the pot, pouring some stock in, and setting it to low for 7 - 8 hours. That gives you plenty of time to head to work or complete a day's worth of errands.

Lion Hunt Scheduled for November in Zimbabwe - We Must Stop This

Jimba Safaris is organizing a scheduled lion hunt for sometime in November on the outskirts of Hwange National Park, a refuge for lions. Slaughtering endangered animals does not aid in conservation despite what organizers would have you believe. These hunts work against true conservation efforts and put lions in continued jeopardy. Michigan Hunter Convicted Of Poaching Crimes

A hunter in Michigan was convicted of various poaching crimes and was handed a 90 day jail sentence, 32, 000 dollars in fines, and a lifetime ban on hunting. Vermont Becomes 12th US State to Ban Wildlife Trade of Endangered Animals

Vermont is set to become the 12th US state to ban the trade of wildlife parts from 15 of the world's most imperiled endangered animals. This is amazing news but also an indication that there are still so many states and countries around the world that still need to step up and do their part to conserve thee beautiful animals. Time is of the essence when we're discussing extinction and we need more action across the board.

Conservation Groups Initiate Lawsuits to Speed up Giraffe Conservation

The USFWS is facing yet another lawsuit due to their inaction in protecting giraffes. They have been aware of the perils giraffes face now for over 3 years and have neglected to do anything about it. Giraffes are in dire need of ESA protections which would allocate resources and fund to giraffe conservation. Without it, giraffes will undoubtedly go extinct due to our inaction.
