Giving mini potatoes a little smash gives you a whole new dish! Smashed potatoes are first boiled until cooked and then smashed before being baked nice and crispy brown. It's a simple way to prepare potatoes and a nice change from the regular roasted / boiled variety.
If you don't have either of those tools available, option 3 is to use a fork. This option was fairly unreliable as some of the potatoes did not quite smash the way I wanted them but when push comes to shove this option is suitable.
