Topics for week 3 Animal News

This week, we'll be diving into two pretty intense topics and you can believe I've got a lot to say!

• VETERINARIAN IN ONTARIO CHARGED WITH 16 COUNTS OF ANIMAL CRUELTY - Dr. Mahavir Rekhi is charged with 16 counts of animal cruelty involving animal abuse and failure to provide care. He was also convicted earlier in the year of professional misconduct and had his licence temporarily suspended for 10 months. We'll discuss how pathetic his last sentence was and how important it is that he not only has his license permanently revoked but serves a jail sentence.

 

• HAMERTON U.K. ZOOKEEPER MAULED BY TIGER - Another sad story involving a captive predator that really brings to light some serious problems regarding zoo standards. We'll discuss the problems of caging these animals, the unfortunate facts about security, and my own personal experiences at the zoo.
